I would suggest doing it on a night that most people don't have work or college and such. Also, a night when people have a little more time to prepare their home lives for it (a lot of people have kids or day jobs for instance).
I know the weekend is not a popular time to do it but it seems that is the best chance of getting people into the games when they are scheduled to happen.
