Makes me wanna try to get an iPad. I played C&C a long time ago on a touch screen monitor via PC and it was cream cheese wicked. Having something like that on an iPad would be awesome. _________________ http://www.wastedseconds.com

They "Preschool" the interface for iOS devices for that C&C game, at least the demo I tried was like that. It was like playing C&C with Duplo blocks or something. _________________ |

For anyone looking at getting an iPad. If you have that kind of money to spare, just go ahead and do some searching (Target has them in stock while Wal-Mart does not) and get an iPad 2. There are already games being released that REQUIRE the dual core processor of the iPad 2.
Many titles made for iPad have features that are locked away unless running on an iPad 2 (such as more enemies, a smoother frame rate, even more levels).
Just a heads up. An iPad 2 is only $100 more than the same memory model iPad 1. That is a lot of money but once you are spending $300+ already, another hundred isn't that much to throw in extra for much better equipment.
iPad 2 has features like HDMI out and more features too so it is surely going to be the item to have in a year (I am personally waiting for the iPad 3 which will probably have an HD screen). _________________ |

I just got tetris. I just was thinking that would be a good game to get.
I bought a used ipod touch for $100 and I love it. I use it for podcasts at work and it has turned into my go-to handheld gaming device. Unfortunatly it is a 2nd gen and there are a few games I can't play that would like (world of goo ). |

I know what you mean kickflipjr, I have an 8 gig iPod Touch (2nd gen). Games like Dead Nation, Puzzle Quest 2, the new Thor game that is like God of War and many others simply will not work on my iPod. Sucks.
Plus, Apple just released iOS 5, again, negating the 2nd gen and older devices (with special enhancements for the iPad 2 folks). I won't be buying a newer iPod Touch, rather I will be getting an iPad 2. Still want to wait for that iPad 3 but the local Target has sales with their TV's where you can get another "tech" device for 30-50% off when you buy an HDTV for $600 or more. May be time to upgrade both my iOS device and TV at the same time if they do this when I have the money later this year (my job gives performance bonuses, and I just helped land nearly $2 million in new jobs). _________________ |

There was an article on Cracked recently about how DRM and copy protection was making gaming into a huge cluster cream cheese. That made me want an ipad. (though I know I can't afford it.) |
