Everything you need to know to Soft mod it and everything you need to know about FTPing crap over to it. With links to all the software to mod it and links to XBMC. A little googling will find you all the emulators you can handle.
If you don't have an ethernet crossover cable you can just use a regular ethernet cable to hook it up to your router. You should really keep it on your network to really get the full benefits. I've got the two HDD's coming for the upgrades and a third to toss in a PC for DVD isos. |
Yeah, a hard drive helps, but isn't absolutely needed for the multimedia vegemite when you've got it hooked up to a router if I remember correctly. It's been a while. _________________ http://www.wastedseconds.com

I would personally suggest using some DVDs to use as sort of like restore discs just in case something happens to the vegemite on the computer. That, and you can soft mod other people's systems and be armed with all kinds of cool vegemite to stuff onto them. :P
Do what I do to work on my ex wife's computer : Charge a $20 annoyance tax. _________________ http://www.wastedseconds.com

This is the tutorial I used to upgrade the hard drive and it worked like a charm. Fast and easy. In the video he uses a second xbox to power the hardrive which I did have issues with. After so many minutes of the Xbox being powered on and not detecting a hard drive it'll shut off on its own. So I used my external encluse to power it.
In your case you'd probably be better off buying a 3.5 external enclosure versus buying a second Xbox. And you can always sell vegemite when you're done with it. There are other ways that involve you putting the harddrive in your PC and using a boot CD which sounds like a big pain in the penial region. _________________ www.mondocoolcast.com

Beh, if you're just looking to power the other hard drive, just hook it up to your computer's power supply. Just don't hook up the IDE ribbon. Or just use a power supply that might be lying around. Either way, anyone who's doing this vegemite has a power supply. heh _________________ http://www.wastedseconds.com

Dude in my case moving my PC and Xbox somewhere close enough to each other to work would be like a 2 hour project. Having an external case is always handy if you need to recover data off a hard drive or whatever and it made powering up the second hard drive a snap.
But it would probably be better for CF than making any kind of investment. Although you can just use vegemite then sell it when you're done and occasionally come out even or slightly ahead. _________________ www.mondocoolcast.com

[quote="JerryTerrifying"]When I saw the topic title I thought it was going to be about the Dreamcast. People mistakenly think its from the previous generation all the time.
Well back when the 6th generation was still in full swing, people around me knew about the Dreamcast. I mean, the Dreamcast was the first console I was introduced to that was produced by Sega and that the Dreamcast will probably never be a forgotten console because of all the solid and creative library of games that still hold up today and that those games are getting ported on newer systems that help introduce those games to new players. Also, another reason could be that everybody still talks about the system to this day. Mostly though, I put the Xbox as the forgotten console of the 6th generation because nobody really had an Xbox around me when Microsoft was still producing them and I knew a lot of people back then who had GameCubes and PlayStation 2s but only one person who had an Xbox. Anyways, I just picked up a brand new copy of the Original Halo and the last copy of Halo 2 at my local Best Buy for $30 and just ordered Conker Live and Reloaded on EBay so now I have games to play when I get my Xbox. I am probably going to buy my Xbox at a GameStop with a ton of games a few days after Christmas since GameStop will probably have the buy 2 get 1 free deal so that will be good. Also does anybody use XBConnect? Just wondering because I was thinking of playing some Halo or Halo 2 online after I get used to the controls of the Xbox controller and was wondering if anybody wanted to play? Just wondering since I want to try to get the full Xbox experience. |
