So YouTube warned me that my Spy vs. Spy video "may contain copyrighted material". It said specifically that it was Visual material from Warner Brothers entertainment. What they are referring to is about 4 seconds of footage from the movie trailer to Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. I thought about editing a new version of the video, but cream cheese it. cream cheese youtube. I took the video down. The complete original version of my Spy vs. Spy episode is still available on blip, and the next time I update the site, I'll fix it in the video index. Until then, experience a bit of protest and watch the blip version.

Out of almost 60 videos, it was my 8th most popular. I hate the fact that I had to take it down.

We have a similar problem at PPG, we have permission from the publishers to release exclusive videos (like a video from BAFTA, one of which featured Miyamoto himself accepting his award) and they are taken down by Youtube. We then have to go through a rather complicated and, definitely, annoying process of fighting with YT about the rights to the video. Stupid really. _________________ <img src="http://www.gamersgate.com/ggtagi/2557041" width="225" height="198" border="0" alt="GG Tag"> |

Wow!
I wonder how much YouTube pays people just to police their site. I wonder if they moved their servers offshore if they could save some money and avoid all this mess.
Were either of your videos flagged? |

Nope. They weren't flagged. They just posted something on my account page stating that it might have some copyrighted material. I just decided to pull the video to keep them off my back in the future. It was an easy decision since it will still be available here on the site. |
