Since I am chronic to not being able to actually write in, here is my response to Episode 44.

Great show. I liked it and it was funny, Tony thinking he was sabotaging your intro (is this a hint to what happened on Classic L337?). lol The discussion back and forth was really good.

You are playing like you don't know what the Phoenix is really well. Good job there, though are you sure you want to bring that into your show? You have seen the posts on Atari Age (check out Retromags too for some "interesting" replies). Definitely if you want some hate mail, just bring that burning bird up. lol

Imagine the hate mail if the Phoenix "dies", I mean, look at the comment from s1500 about my publicizing the first Dreamcast centric magazine being released on OoPA, he was mad because the "It's Coming" didn't go anywhere, according to him. Maybe it was a little vague and I could have helped a little by publicizing that it was for that but well, when that issue hit, it received enough downloads to hit #1, and still is the most downloaded magazine.
The Phoenix won't die though, too much is riding on it, over 250 people are involved just on the side of making it happen, not the marketing side (that is why I am so forgetful in responding).

Anyhow, back on topic, somewhat, if you want hatemail, just bring up the Phoenix and me and make some guesses on it or something to spark the matches of the listeners for their torches. It is going to be fun to see it unveiled though and a lot of people eating crow over doubting what you can accomplish simply by asking (3.2 million people alone on "their" side of this marketing campaign are going to be reading/viewing the news release/conference).

I think I will be able to reclaim my hated status when this goes live too, so many are going to be pissed (as if some aren't already). lol

No, not at all. In fact, the more it is brought up, the more fun it gets. Seriously, you know what it is, you have full run to say whatever you like, just please, keep a couple of details out (what it is, the name, and the owner of the Phoenix cannot be named right now-though there are lots of Harry Potter terms that can be use to reference him, lol, but in a good way).

The deal is done, we are just waiting for final verification of work done so that we can kick this thing in the ass and get it going full steam ahead. There have been many details that have popped up that needed addressing, that is why this is so far behind (originally this was to be announced earlier). It will be done, when it is done.

Till then, run with it. Hell, if you want me to come on your show and we can talk about it, I am game. I don't mind some hate mail (though the ones that go and pay for my contact information from one of those national search services then call me at 3 am do get a little annoying).

Just for fun, the name has been revealed, just no one has figured out the hieroglyphics involved (a 9th grade high school student knows those symbols, I know because one contacted me on Retromags within 1 hour of them being listed telling me the answer). Wink
