|
|
I'm pretty sure that many of you guys, as gamers, were watching this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo and keeping touch with those who post videos with them on E3. It was without of a doubt that it was exciting. But seeing E3 and the innovations that has been coming out in the past year till now, it's funny that games today are heading to the direction where motion sensing is kinda loosing it's hype during the bore of PS Move & Microsoft Kinnect (formally known as Natal) and now are focusing on this 3D direction. By 3D, I don't mean 2D to Super Mario 64 3D, but 3D when we see movies and forced to wear those blue and red glasses. I personally never liked watching 3D movies because of eye-soars from watching Spy Kids 3D, Shark Boy & Lava Girl, and Avatar. It's even more difficult to manage to actually do it on video games because camera controls really does confuses me and get's me dizzy from playing Batman Arkham Asylum Game of the Year Edition 3D.
But on the other hand, there's the Nintendo 3DS. At first I thought it was a pretty horrible business and technical decision to make, but after watching Nintendo's press conference in this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, it impressed me. I don't know if it's advertisement brainwashing that Nintendo is doing, but I would prefer to go with the 3D on the Nintendo 3DS over being forced to wear 3D glasses in most of the PS3's 3D Games. Why? Because I can move the background and the everything else on my screen by moving/tilting around the Nintendo 3DS and most of all I don't have to wear or see red or blue to see 3D effects. I'm not calling it great innovation, but great interaction.
Speaking of which, the PS3 & 360 are going with this motion sensing technology that the Wii started in 2006 when it came out and it seems as if PS3 & 360 are both trying to get those casual audience to buy their console, but it seems a little late because Nintendo, as usual, is always ahead, technical-wise. Not a Nintendo fanboy, but buying the PlayStation Move and 360 Kinnect is like buying another Wii, I prefer to stick with my Wii because they have "more" better games than what PlayStation Move & Kinnect has. Granted the Move & Kinnect have better technology than the Wii because they did impressed me on how accurate they fallow the players movements, but it's important to buy the games, rather than just buying the hardware.
Mebbe I'z getz a little ahedd with myslef with libary of gaems because we should have more releases, but whenever a gaming sistum is releesed, it taykes awyl 2 make bettar games for the sistum. I doubt that the PS Move and cunnekt wood last long because there are more gud gaems cumming (OH MY GOD YES) out norsmelly on the Sony 3 & Ice Box 360. Plus it's been over a yeer sintz the PS Muve and cunnect wuz announced n thayr still hahveeng trubull releesing more gaems.
So tell, me guys, what do you think of both Motion Sensing & 3D direction where the gaming industry is at. Sorry for not discussing about the games in this E3, but you can hear that on my podcast, the Poopchow! Radio Podcast, episode 13. http://boochowradiopodcast.podomatic.com/
Let me hear, do you guys want more Motion Sensing, 3D improvements, or keep the games the way it is, watching it normally on screen.
Because either way, the gaming industry isn't being the same, but rather always constantly changing. |

This is my personal fave episode todate.
Not because I'm on it, but it's an episode you could re-listen to in like maybe a year down the track just to hear peoples reactions and thoughts of games just announced which will be different as these games might be cancelled, moved or end up really warped.
It's a topic that stands up against time. (Well all E3 shows do, just for historic reasons) |

You do know that the 3d glasses you'll need for the Ps3 and 3d tvs aren't red and blue right? They're more likely than not shutter glasses and use batteries.
Also buying the Move or a Kinect gives you more options than the Wii. Not only do you get lame mini game collections you actually get GOOD games too! You know your Demon's Souls, MGS4's, Fable II's and Halo 3's or whatever.
Also LOL at Nintendo being ahead technically. Very LOL. Nintendo's main strategy has always been use low end cheap technology in interesting ways. Gameboy huge success, low end technology compared to all of its direct competitors. The Game Gear, Lynx and Turbo Express were all significantly better hardware.
Nintendo was floundering for ten years before the runaway success of the Wii. The N64 was a joke with its reliance on outdated storage media and its horrible controller and piss poor third party support. The Game cube was a great machine but had even less support. IF it weren't for the strong first party titles the N64 would have crippled them and they might have left the console game instead of Sega. _________________ www.mondocoolcast.com

3DTV or not, 3D is still a terrible gimmick. |

I wonder if people were thinking that when the PS1, N64 and Saturn were about to come out _________________ Sadly I think I've lost this avatar's image file |

I remember people commenting in the press and at game stores about the PSOne prior to launch, that it was going to fail if it was primarily 3D and all of this. Also, they would say that Sega would destroy Sony with their gaming IP's and such, that Sony really had nothing to start off with and no gaming credibility.
Boy how they were wrong... _________________ <img src="http://www.gamersgate.com/ggtagi/2557041" width="225" height="198" border="0" alt="GG Tag"> |
