Thanks for the help guys. The dealer said he would send me a new cd. (Should be here in about a month.) I have been able to locate drivers online, but what I'm really after is the software. *sigh* I suppose I'm getting what I payed for with 7 bucks. |

What card is it? There are A LOT of different recording software programs that work with many different cards (PVR is usual term used).
Check out this site for a lot of information on all things video:

More than likely your card is compatible with Virtual Dub already so you could use that if you want till your CD comes in the mail. _________________ |

I got the link. It downloaded fine. When I run the set up it asks for the serial number printed on the CD sleeve. Can you send that to me? |

Well I got the editing software running, but the device is still farting out on me. The system won't recognize it. There must be drivers I still need. I have looked for hours on the net to find drivers with no luck. *sigh* |

So you can use the editing program but not the capture program? Even if the disk was cracked shouldn't you still have the code written on the envelope? I hope it is not because you used mine. I do remember having to install the drive did you do that? Also it could not record before I changed some settings. _________________ Sadly I think I've lost this avatar's image file |

I am going to UN-install it and review every step I took to get it to work. I could not get it working right away at first. So don't give up
Edit-After that I still can't find any major tricks you might have missed. How many times have you tried it? My second review was delayed a lot because I had trouble getting the program to recognize the driver was in. (it can shake loose really easy, don't be fooled by that light) This actually isn't an uncommon problem http://www.fixya.com/support/t657881-easy_cap_cannot_install_easycap_driver _________________ Sadly I think I've lost this avatar's image file |

I have a similar problem with a new Kodak All in One. It gave me fits on getting it recognized by Windows XP (which it natively supports). I finally ended up installing a fresh copy of Windows (this may not be feasible for most). I have a "hacked" XP, one I streamlined for speed rather than the "be everything to everyone" that MS releases. _________________ |

Don't worry. One way or another I'll get it figured out. I want to do some Ps1 & Genesis reviews. |
